Rangers were beaten 2-1 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League qualifier against Swedish outfit Malmo last night and Steven Gerrard will be thoroughly disappointed with the performance of his players.
The Scottish outfit managed to get a late away goal which keeps their hopes alive in the tie but they could have performed a lot better.
Gerrard revealed after the game that half of his team underperformed on the night.
The fans will be particularly disappointed with the performance of the 27-year-old midfielder John Lundstram.
The former Sheffield United midfielder was signed to add energy and physicality to the Rangers midfield but he struggled to have the desired impact on the game last night.
Lundstram did work hard for his side, but he lost possession cheaply and failed to dominate the proceedings in the middle of the park. Rangers missed the likes of Ryan Jack and Glen Kamara massively.
The Scottish champions will have to improve immensely if they want to go through to the next round of the competition by winning the second leg at home.
Some of the Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on Lundstram’s performance last night and here is what they had to say.
We have to talk about Lundstram and Arfield, very poor tonight. I’m not sure they work in a 3 together its one or the other.

Lundstram with one of the worst performances from a rangers player I’ve ever seen in Europe.
