Celtic are expected to appoint Ange Postecoglou as their new manager this summer.
The former Australian national team manager is currently managing in Japan and it will be interesting to see if he can handle the step up from Yokohama Marinos to Celtic next season.
The Scottish outfit are in desperate need of a quality managerial appointment but their plan to land the former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has not worked out.
The Scottish giants revealed in a club statement that Howe will not be joining the club for reasons beyond his and Celtic’s control.
According to John Percy from the Telegraph, Celtic are currently in advanced talks with the 55-year-old Australian manager and they are close to finalising his appointment.

Celtic have had a very disappointing season by their standards and Neil Lennon was sacked earlier this year after a series of poor performances. John Kennedy is currently the interim manager at Parkhead but the Hoops will need to bring in a better quality replacement for Lennon.
The pressure to win trophies at Celtic is immense and Postecoglou will have to hit the ground running. He has a major challenge ahead of him with the squad in need of a rebuild and the team crying out for a distinct style of play.
Furthermore, he could lose key players like Odsonne Edouard and Kristoffer Ajer this summer. It remains to be seen whether the 55-year-old can get the Hoops firing once again.
Rangers roared their way to the title last season and Steven Gerrard has put together a quality squad that is capable of defending the domestic crown next season as well.
Celtic will have to improve a lot in order to challenge Celtic and reclaim the league title next year.
Some of the Celtic fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on the potential appointment of the 55-year-old manager and here is what they had to say.
I find myself getting excited reading more stuff about Postecoglou
Don’t know whether that’s just me being optimistic or not, but some of what he is about sounds good

Ange Postecoglou should get absolutely nowhere near the Celtic job, that’s embarrassing

Quick reminder to everyone writing off Postecoglou that he learned his trade working closely with Benitez, Pochettino, and Bielsa

This is how it feels to be Celtic. Champions again as you know. Ange Postecoglou’s here for 10 in a row. Alright it needs a little work.

Hopefully Postecoglou is given time up here because the shock of the culture and pace of the game in this league is going to hit him very quickly.
Factor in the player exodus, imminent qualifiers and the enormous pressure to bridge the gap domestically, it’s a huge gamble.
