Reports stemming from Belgium have credited Liverpool with an interest in Leicester City’s Youri Tielemans.
Tielemans’ Leicester stint
After he impressed on loan during the second half of the 2018/19 campaign, Leicester signed Tielemans permanently in the summer of 2019.
The Foxes are believed to have paid French outfit AS Monaco around £40m to bring the midfielder to the King Power.
The Belgian has since established himself as a key cog in Brendan Rodgers’ side, notching 108 appearances in all competitions, across which he has scored 17 and assisted 19.
It was the 2020/21 campaign, though, which saw Tielemans produce arguably his best football in a Leicester shirt.
Despite largely operating in a deep midfield role, the former Anderlecht talent had managed to chip in with nine goals and six assists.
By far and away his most important goal contribution for Leicester would come earlier this month when he netted a stunning strike to clinch the Foxes their first-ever FA Cup.

Liverpool eyeing Tielemans
Given how important he already is to Leicester, as well as his potential to continue to develop into a top-class player, Brendan Rodgers and co. are unlikely to want the Belgian to depart the King Power anytime soon.
However, Tielemans does look to be attracting interest from another top Premier League side.
That club appears to be Liverpool, who are set to lose Georginio Wijnaldum when his contract expires next month:

And according to reports from Belgium, Liverpool must look for a replacement for the Dutchman, with one of the names on their list Leicester’s Tielemans.
The report adds that Tielemans is very happy at Leicester, but is also eager to play at the highest level in Europe again.
