Ndombele’s Spurs stint
Tanguy Ndombele joined Tottenham last summer for a club-record fee, arriving from French outfit Lyon.
However, despite his transfer fee and previous superb displays in France, Ndombele endured a tough debut campaign in north London.
The midfielder’s fitness seemed to be a real issue for much of the season, with Jose Mourinho having even publicly hit out at Ndombele last year.
However, the current campaign has seen the Spurs faithful finally provided with a glimpse of what Ndombele is truly capable of.
The 24-year-old has featured 44 times this season, notching six goals and four assists in the process.
Granted, he has not been overly impressive over recent weeks. But there is still clearly a top player there which any news Spurs boss would likely be keen to work with.
Real Madrid linked with Tottenham’s Ndombele
Despite this Ndombele, who is currently tied down in north London until 2025, is being linked with a move away from Spurs.
According to Football Insider, Real Madrid are interested in signing Tanguy Ndombele this summer, with Los Blancos said to be in the market for a dynamic, top-level midfielder to eventually replace Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and co.
It is added that Spurs have been approached by Real about the Frenchman and are aware of their strong interest.
It is added, though, that Spurs are not currently listening to offers for the Frenchman, as that decisions will be dependent on a number of factors including who the new manager is.
In terms of a potential fee for Ndombele, FI claim that the Lilywhites would look to recoup the original £54m they paid for him if they do look to sell him.
