Tammy Abraham’s future at Chelsea appears uncertain with the forward having found himself on the fringes since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival as head coach at Stamford Bridge.
Abraham enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season with Chelsea last season to score 18 goals in all competitions, but has struggled to secure a regular starting spot this season amid competition for a first-team place from summer signing Timo Werner and Olivier Giroud.
The appointment of former Paris Saint-Germain manager Tuchel has further decreased his role, with the England international having been left out of the match-day squad on occasion in recent months.
Abraham has started just twice in the league under Tuchel and has failed to complete 90 minutes, a situation that has led a series of Premier League clubs to monitor his situation ahead of a potential summer move.
So those of you who like to bet with bet365, we’ve decided to look at the front runners to secure his signature,
Here are the bookmaker’s five favourites to sign Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.
Everton – 16/1
Everton have been priced as 16/1 odds to sign Abraham this summer, with the Toffees’ options limited behind first-choice centre-forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Abraham will have watched on as Calvert-Lewin has thrived amid regular first-team football on Merseyside, with the 23-year-old having scored 19 goals in all competitions this season to move ahead of the Chelsea forward in Gareth Southgate’s pecking order for England.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side remain a strong chance to secure European football and will need to increase their strength in depth to handle the added fixtures, the short-term signing of Josh King and versatile Richarlison the only current alternatives to Calvert-Lewin.
Whether the two forwards could play together appears uncertain however and Abraham may want his next club to be one where he is firmly established as the main man, having struggled for starts at Chelsea this season.
Arsenal – 16/1
Ranked alongside Everton at odds of 16/1 are Arsenal, who could look to strengthen their striking options with a raid on their London rivals this summer.
Despite the rivalry, the two clubs have been no strangers to conducting business in recent years with the likes of David Luiz, Olivier Giroud and Willian amongst the players to have crossed the divide in recent windows.
Arsenal have endured a disappointing domestic campaign and the futures of several of their forward options remains uncertain, recent speculation having suggested that both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could leave this summer as they enter the final years of their respective contracts.
Should both players leave, a vacancy would open up for Abraham to lead the line at the Emirates with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang having largely been utilised in a wide role under Mikel Arteta.
Arsenal remain a side in transition and Abraham could prove a more than useful addition to a team whose forward options have failed to convince this season.
Leicester – 12/1
Leicester are understood to be keen on signing a new striker this summer as the Foxes seek a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy, the reigning Golden Boot winner now 34-years-old and enduring a quiet second half of the season.
Vardy’s lack of goals have been compensated for by a brilliant run of form from Kelechi Iheanacho, who has reignited his Leicester career with a prolific run of 12 goals in his past nine appearances.
The Nigeria international had looked like failing to fulfil the early potential he first showed at Manchester City, but his form since the turn of the new year will have handed Brendan Rodgers food for thought ahead of the summer window.
Leicester look set to secure Champions League football for next season and will look to strengthen their squad significantly ahead of a return to Europe’s elite, with Abraham a player who would appear to fit a youthful side with a British core including the likes of James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and James Justin.
Odsonne Edouard is another to have been linked with the King Power Stadium and is a player Rodgers knows well from his time with Celtic, though Abraham could provide a fine alternative.
West Ham – 3/1
David Moyes’ transformation of West Ham has been one of the stories of the season this term, leading the club away from last season’s relegation troubles to push for Champions League qualification.
West Ham’s standing near the top of the division is all the more impressive given the lack of a recognised centre-forward for much of the campaign, with Michail Antonio having struggled with injury and disappointing club-record addition Sebastian Haller allowed to leave for Ajax in January.
Jesse Lingard and Jarrod Bowen have helped fill the void in recent weeks, but the signing of a number nine looks set to be a priority and the Hammers have been priced at odds of just 3/1 to sign Abraham.
The move would provide the 23-year-old with regular opportunities and would allow Abraham to remain in his native London, whilst he fits the profile of recent West Ham signings give his age, potential and point to prove.
West Ham will hope to secure a place in Europe to free up further funds for summer signings, with a permanent deal for Lingard a priority alongside the signing of a central striker.
Aston Villa – 2/1
Aston Villa have been priced as 2/1 favourites to sign Tammy Abraham this summer, a move that would see the forward rejoin the club he helped fire to promotion in 2018/19.
Abraham signed for Villa on loan with the club mired in the Championship before scoring 26 goals in all competitions as Dean Smith’s side were promoted to the Premier League via the play-offs.
Villa had been keen to extend the forward’s stay but he returned to Chelsea and was handed an opportunity under Frank Lampard, with Smith instead breaking the club’s transfer record to sign Wesley from Club Brugge.
The Brazilian scored just five goals in 21 league appearances before being ruled out for over a year with a serious knee injury, his absence having since seen Villa break their transfer record once again to sign Ollie Watkins from Brentford.
Watkins has enjoyed an impressive debut season to become a firm fans’ favourite at Villa Park and the club’s supporters would no doubt relish the prospect of the 24-year-old lining up alongside former loanee Abraham next season.
Villa have shown their ambition since returning to the Premier League and the signing of Abraham would be a show of intent as they look to continue their recent improvement.
